About the role
You will own backend systems where confidentiality and integrity matter. Client repos, findings, and report drafts need APIs that are boring in the best way: typed, observable, and hard to misuse.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement Node.js + TypeScript services and APIs for core product workflows
- Encode authorization, policy checks, and audit trails as first-class system behavior
- Build durable job/orchestration paths for settlement and attestation with clear failure semantics
- Define service boundaries, schemas, and SLIs that scale with design-partner load
- Harden operational readiness: logging, metrics, tracing, and runbooks for critical paths
Requirements
- Senior Node.js experience building production APIs and background processing
- Strong grasp of data modeling, consistency tradeoffs, and idempotent design
- Security-aware engineering — authn/authz, secrets handling, and least privilege
- Comfort owning services through production issues, not just green-path delivery
- Ability to write crisp interface contracts for frontend and protocol consumers
Nice to have
- Experience with Postgres or similar systems under transactional workloads
- Familiarity with queues, workers, and exactly-once / at-least-once patterns
- Background in payments, custody, KYC/AML tooling, or regulated APIs
- Interest in integrating with MPC, HSM, or enclave-backed signing flows
Benefits
- Meaningful founding equity
- Flexible PTO and remote-first culture
- On-call stipend when production coverage begins
- Home-office stipend and hardware signing kit
- Health coverage as we formalize benefits
- Cloud and tooling budget for serious local/prod parity
